An update about railroad operations in the central Texas area. Mainly along the UP Austin sub from Round Rock - Taylor and the BNSF in the Temple area. Also occasional updates from the UP Corsicana and Ennis subs and the BNSF DFW Sub between Dallas and Teague.
UP 1982 was setout in Eddy, Texas on Friday June 1, 2012. The engine carried a string of empty well cars to Dallas that were stored further south in the siding.
A Northbound BNSF rock train loaded with Texas Size Stones from the Marble Falls, TX area heads north on the Union Pacific Waco Sub (ex MKT) between Taylor and Granger, TX. BNSF utilizes trackage rights on the UP to reach the central Texas quarries in Georgetown and off the Austin Western railroad via the interchange at McNeil.
Union Pacific 844 along with the UP E Units departed Hearne, TX this morning in route to Ft. Worth with the 150th anniversary train. 844 returned to Hearne after repairs were performed during the past few weeks in Georgetown at the Georgetown Railroad Shops. Videos below include the train departing Hearne yard then heading north on the Ft. Worth sub at Valley Junction. Finally the train departs Marlin, TX after about a 20 minute service stop.
